OUR TEA
ORIGINS
We can trace our heritage back to the 1800’s when Andrew Melrose first imported fresh tea from China on the Tea Clipper Isabella.
Today we still source our tea from the classic tea-growing farms of China, and India, but we have also started sourcing tea from newer farms in countries like Indonesia.
PROCESS
Once we source the tea leaves, we taste a small sample so that we can match the taste profile that we want to create for each blend.
Then after we’ve blended our tea we carry out another taste test to check that the blend meets our high standards… any excuse to make a quick cuppa!
BLENDS
We have a variety of teas that showcase many different flavours. From our malty, classic breakfast tea all the way to sweet, fruit teas.
We believe that there’s a tea for everyone to enjoy and are always on the lookout for exciting new blends.
We ensure that we follow Fairtrade, Organic Food Federation, and SALSA procedures everyday in order to proudly show off our certifications and receive regular audits to maintain these certifications.
We want our customers to know that we do what we can for the environment and the farmers of our tea and coffee, as well as show that we have everyday working procedures that meet the high standards of a SALSA audit.
